Amílcar Guerreiro, Director of Electric Energy Studies of the Empresa de Pesquisa Energética - EPE, is graduated as Production Engineer (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ) and has Master Degree in energy planning and in industrial projects (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ). Amilcar was Director of Economy, Energy and Environmental Studies of EPE, Energy Planning and Development Secretary of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Coordinator of the Directive Committee for the Planning of the Energy Systems, Counselor of the Manaus Energia S.A and of the Companhia Energética do Amazonas. He is co-author of the book “Power Generation in Brasil”, coordinated by professor Mauricio Tolmasquim, published by Editora Interciência, 2005. Author and co-author of scientific papers published in Brazil and abroad in the areas of energy planning, energy markets and energy efficiency. Invited Professor of MBA courses at Fundação Getúlio Vargas and at Instituto Brasileiro de Mercado de Capitais - IBMEC.
