Intersolar Summit Brasil Nordeste 2024 Congress: Advances in Energy Storage to be discussed

Press Release – Monday, April 1, 2024

Fortaleza, April 1, 2024: The Intersolar Summit Brasil Nordeste, to be held in Fortaleza, will discuss the panorama of the international and national electricity storage market. On April 11, Aldhir Alexandre Alves, sales engineer at the Moura Group, and Marcelo Rodrigues, vice-president of Business and Innovation at UCB Power, will debate advances in energy storage.

The focus of the discussion will be on large-scale storage applications, coupled with photovoltaic plants, as well as the prospects for storage in the context of distributed generation. The speakers will also discuss the latest technological advances in batteries.

The subject has advanced in Brazil. In addition to discussions, in August 2023, the country started to have the Brazilian Association of Energy Storage Solutions (ABSAE). The association's president, Markus Vlasits, is one of the curators of the Intersolar Summit Brasil Nordeste congress.

The association's premise is the importance of energy storage for the security of the electricity system, the decarbonization of the electricity matrix and tariff modicity. In addition, ABSAE aims to encourage investment in this area and public policies that guarantee the segment's competitiveness.

Organized by Aranda Eventos & Congressos, in collaboration with Solar Promotion International GmbH of Germany, the Summit will bring to the fore strategic discussions for the future of the sector. Ceará, standing out as one of the most promising states, ranks fourth in centralized generation and has 833.8 MW of installed capacity in distributed generation. The state has also shown remarkable potential to lead the production of green hydrogen, with more than 30 memorandums of understanding signed and companies planning to start production as early as 2024.

Now in its fourth edition, the Intersolar Summit Brasil Nordeste has established itself on the Fortaleza calendar, attracting 100 exhibiting companies in a 5,000 m² space and expecting more than 5,000 visitors. Professionals from the solar and renewable energy sector will have the opportunity to network, discover the latest trends and innovations in solar technology and make connections with leading companies in the market.

The Intersolar Summit Brasil Nordeste has the support of the Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association (ABSOLAR), NewCharge, Sindienergia - CE, Clean Energy Latin America (CELA), the Brazilian Network of Women in Solar Energy (MESol), the Ceará Economic Development Agency (ADECE) and the Secretariat for Economic Development.

Intersolar Summit Brasil Nordeste – The most successful solar event boosting Brazil’s Northeast’s PV business, takes place at the Centro de Eventos do Ceará in Fortaleza, Brazil, on April 10–11, 2024, and focuses on the areas of photovoltaics, PV production, solar thermal technologies as well as green hydrogen.

Brazil’s Northeast stands out in the renewable energy sector, with excellent conditions for the generation of renewable energy through solar and wind, as well as the infrastructure and logistics for the production of green hydrogen. Another major asset is the state of Ceará's commitment to integrating academia, government, and industry to strengthen the use of renewable energy. The event will feature sessions and roundtables, with the presence of authorities and invited specialists, enabling interaction and debates with the audience.

The summit’s mission is to provide in-depth education, enable high-quality networking opportunities, expand the use of PV technologies at the regional and national levels, strengthen the local PV industry, and demonstrate the potential of green hydrogen produced with solar energy for the Northeast of Brazil.

In 2023, Intersolar Summit Brasil Nordeste welcomed more than 5,000 visitors and over 300 conference attendees over 2 days. Over 90 providers showcased their products.
With events spanning four continents, Intersolar is the world’s leading exhibition and conference series for the solar industry.
