SUMMARY:Existing Photovoltaic Systems at Risk: How to Diagnose and Correct Before an Accident Occurs
TZID:Europe/Berlin
LAST-MODIFIED:20260630T110519Z
DESCRIPTION:The rapid growth of solar energy in Brazil has led to the installation of thousands of photovoltaic systems in a short period\, often driven by commercial pressure and without proper structural assessment of existing buildings. As a result\, a 'hidden liability' has emerged: systems already in operation that may present risks\, even without immediate signs of failure. This mini-course offers a practical and up-to-date approach to this scenario\, focusing on existing systems that have not yet experienced accidents but may be in vulnerable conditions. It will cover the most common mistakes observed in the field\, warning signs that indicate potential structural issues\, and basic criteria for technical evaluation of these installations. In addition\, feasible intervention strategies will be discussed\, including structural reinforcement\, correction of fixation methods\, and necessary adjustments to improve installation safety. The course will also address the limits of professional responsibility and technical accountability when risks are identified in systems already in operation. The objective is to equip integrators\, engineers\, and installers to act proactively\, identifying issues before they escalate into accidents\, thereby contributing to building safety and the long-term sustainability of the photovoltaic sector.
