Lithium and sodium sulfur batteries will be used for the first time in new territories, after NEC ES and NGK inked deals to deliver projects to an island archipelago in Brazil and in Dubai respectively.
Around 20 GW of solar PV projects were initially competing in the contest. PV was again the source with the largest share, accounting for around 80% of total assigned capacity. The final average price for solar was 118 BRL (US$35.2)/MWh.
December 22 (Renewables Now) - The Brazilian and German development banks, BNDES and KfW, signed on Wednesday a USD-141.72-million (EUR 119.58m) credit line to support renewable energy projects across the Latin American country.
The European Investment Bank (EIB) will provide $150 million to renewable energy production company Enel Green Power Perú (a local subsidiary of the Enel Group) to build and operate a wind farm and photovoltaic solar power plant currently under construction in the Andean country.
