Christiano Vieira da Silva is an electrical engineer with a master's degree in economics. He has over 25 years of professional experience, 18 of which have been dedicated to the regulation of the Brazilian power sector. Since May 2022, he has held the position of Director of Operation at ONS, the Brazilian Power System Operator. He served as the National Secretary of Electric Energy at the Ministry of Mines and Energy - MME from 2021 to 2022. Between 2006 and 2021, he held the positions of Deputy Director, Superintendent of Generation Services Regulation, Advisor to the Board of Directors, and Deputy Superintendent of Market Studies, all at ANEEL, the Brazilian Electricity Regulator.

Electrical Engineer, with a master's degree in Power Systems from the University of Brasilia - UNB, and a specialization in Regulation of Gas and Electricity Public Services from USP/UNICAMP. He joined ANEEL in 1998 where he worked as a specialist until March 2007. In 2007 and 2008 he worked as a consultant for the National Electricity System Operator (ONS) and as a planning consultant for the MME's Energy Planning Department. In January 2009, he joined Empresa de Pesquisa Energética - EPE as a planning analyst. In July 2011, he returned to ANEEL as a Regulatory Specialist in the area of Energy Transmission. At ANEEL, he was an advisor to the Board of Directors from April 2021 to June 2023. He is currently serving as Director of Government Programs at the Executive Secretariat of the MME.

He is co-founder and a governing board member of the GSC (Global Solar Council), a non-profit body representing regional and national solar associations on international issues. Rodrigo holds a PhD in Materials Engineering and Technology from PUC-RS (Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul), a Master's degree in Renewable Energies from Loughborough University (UK), a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from USP (São Paulo University), and has collaborated with the Fraunhofer Institut für Solare Energiesysteme (Germany) and with ETH Zürich (Switzerland).
